/ Frequently asked
Honest answers, no waffle.
The questions Essex business owners actually ask before commissioning a website — answered straight, with the prices and timelines you'd hope to see.
Pricing & payment
How much does a website actually cost?
Our Starter site starts at £249.99 for up to 5 pages. A typical small-business Growth site is £900–£1,800. Full e-commerce or bespoke builds start at £1,299. See the full breakdown on our pricing page.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. Hosting (£10–£50/month) and domains (£10–£25/year) are paid by you directly to the provider — we never mark them up. Anything else optional is itemised on your quote before you commit.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes — 50% to start, 50% on launch. Sub-£500 builds are paid 100% up front. We accept bank transfer and Stripe card payments.
Do you do payment plans?
For projects over £1,500 we'll happily split into 3–4 monthly instalments at no extra cost. Just ask in your brief.
Process & timelines
How long does a website take to build?
Starter sites: 2–3 weeks. Growth sites: 3–5 weeks. E-commerce or bespoke: 4–8 weeks. The biggest variable is how fast you can get us content and feedback — we can move as quickly as you can.
What's the process from brief to launch?
Five stages: Discover (kick-off call), Design (mockups + revisions), Build (development), Launch (testing, redirects, indexing), Care (post-launch support). See our process page for the full walkthrough.
How many revisions do I get?
Three rounds of design revisions are included in every package. Anything beyond that is £75/hour, agreed in writing before we start.
Will I see progress before launch?
Yes — you get a private staging URL from week one and we share design mocks in Figma so you can comment on anything in real time.
Ownership & hosting
Do I own my website?
Yes. On final payment, you own the code, design files and content. We hand over hosting credentials, domain access and admin logins. Nothing is locked to us.
Where will my website be hosted?
We recommend Cloudflare or Vercel for performance and price. Hosting is typically £10–£50/month depending on traffic, paid directly to the provider — you stay in full control.
Can you migrate my existing site?
Yes — we migrate sites from Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, GoDaddy and Webflow every month. We preserve URLs and 301-redirect anything we can't, so you don't lose Google rankings.
Can I edit the site myself after launch?
Most of our builds include a simple CMS so you can edit text, swap images and post to a blog without touching code. We'll train you in a 30-minute session at handover.
SEO & performance
Will my new site rank on Google?
Every build includes technical SEO setup: schema markup, sitemap, robots.txt, Core Web Vitals optimisation and Google Search Console submission. Ranking for competitive terms takes ongoing content work — we can help with that, or hand it off to your team.
Will the site be fast?
Yes. Our standard target is 85+ on mobile PageSpeed Insights. We achieve this with modern image formats, minimal JavaScript and edge hosting — not bloated themes and 30 plugins.
Is it mobile-friendly?
Mobile-first by default. We design for phones first, then scale up to tablet and desktop. Most of your visitors will be on mobile — we never treat it as an afterthought.
Is it accessible?
We build to WCAG 2.2 AA standards: proper colour contrast, keyboard navigation, semantic HTML, alt text. We can run a full accessibility audit on request.
Support & maintenance
What happens if something breaks?
Every build includes 30 days of free post-launch tweaks — anything you spot, we fix. After that, our Care Plan from £29/month covers hosting, security, backups and small monthly edits.
Do I have to take a Care Plan?
No. You own the site outright and can host it anywhere. The Care Plan is for businesses that want to hand off the technical worry — most clients take it; some don't.
Can you make changes after launch?
Yes — small content edits are bundled in Care Plans, and bigger changes are quoted separately. Most ad-hoc changes are turned around within a week.
