Nofollow Link

A link that doesn't (officially) pass SEO authority.

A nofollow link has `rel='nofollow'` in the HTML, telling Google not to pass authority. Common on sponsored, comment and UGC links. Since 2019 Google treats them as hints rather than directives — they can still influence rankings and absolutely drive referral traffic.
