Do I need a website if I already have a Facebook page?

Yes. Social pages are rented ground — you don't control reach, ranking, or whether the account survives a random ban.

/ 01

The short version

Facebook is great for reach. It's terrible as your only home, because you can't rank in Google and you can't control what people see.

/ 02

What actually matters

  • Google can't rank a Facebook page for 'plumber in Colchester' the way it ranks a website.
  • You own a website. You rent a Facebook page.
  • Websites convert better — no competing content in the feed.
  • Google Business Profile needs a website URL to perform properly.
  • Suppliers, lenders and larger clients check for a real site.

/ 03

The bit most people get wrong

A website doesn't replace social — it gives your social traffic somewhere to land and actually buy.

/ 04

What to do next

Get a five-page site up and point your social bios at it. Even a simple one beats a Linktree for trust.

Common questions

Can't I just use Google Business Profile?

It helps hugely, but it links to a site — and a site is what makes it convert.

Is Linktree enough?

No. No SEO value and no credibility.
